The sea knows more about them than they know themselves.
They know only how the sea hugs and will not let go.

The sea is large.
The sea must know more than any of us.

It was with profound sadness this morning that I read of the passing of Sir Simon Marsden.  He has been my most loved photographer ever since I stumbled upon his name 10 years ago whilst searching among the library stacks for something, I forget precisely what just now.  His moonlit, haunting works have decorated my home, my correspondence and my secret heart for a good while now.  May he rest in peace.
